Riviera Maya Fly Fishing Seasons

The Riviera Maya offers productive flats fishing throughout the year, with opportunities for permit, bonefish, tarpon and snook across the region. While all four species can be encountered year-round in at least some of our fishing areas, seasonal changes can influence where and when the strongest opportunities occur.

Our fishing season chart provides a general month-by-month guide for planning a Riviera Maya fishing trip. Individual fisheries—including Ascension Bay, Isla Blanca, Cozumel and Cancun Lagoon—have their own seasonal strengths, and daily conditions such as tides, wind, water clarity and weather can also affect the fishing.
